What Christmas is All Aboot!
ExplorerDS678922 December 2012
Warning: Spoilers
The Broflo... er, Broslov...er, Kyle's family is having a lovely Hanukkah night, when suddenly they are visited by two Canadians who claim to be Ike's biological parents. At first it seems they're just here for a visit, but they actually intend on taking Ike back with them. Gerald and Sheila say no way in hell, but the Gintzses say that the new Canadian prime minister has ruled that adopted Canadian children can be taken back if the parents change their minds, so the family has to bid a sad farewell to Ike as he is taken home to Canada. What's more, the mayor addresses the town on this issue and while Mr. Garrison's persistent suggestion of getting rid of the Mexicans is shot down, Chef suggests everybody give the money were going to use for Christmas to Kyle's family. The other adults agree, but the kids are not in favor of this, especially Cartman. Kyle suggests they all go to Canada to see the prime minister themselves. Cartman is adamant about being back in time for Christmas and Stan doesn't want to miss out on some great Christmas adventure. So they call City Airlines, owned by Twon Lu Kim of City Wok, and they hire his plane for sixty two dorrars. His rickety plane gets them into Canada, but crashes before much longer. They're instantly greeted by the colorful Canadians, as well as Scott, the local dick.

The boys are pointed down the road to Ottowa, where the prime minister lived. It would be an easy trek, as Canada only has one road. Along the way, they meet a Mountie who had his horses taken away by the prime minister and now had to ride a sheep. Then they meet a French Canadian mime who was robbed of his wine, and a Newfoundlander who was forbidden to perform sodomy. It's at this point the boys realize they were going the wrong way...down the only road in Canada. D'oh! Fortunately, the Newfoundlander has a boat, which gets them to Ottowa. The door guard to the P.M.'s palace tells them to get lost, so Kyle, Cartman and Stan sit and sob about their plights, about never getting his brother back, not being home in time for Christmas and not having a Christmas adventure respectively. The guard lets them in and they meet the prime minister, the great and powerful. He listens, tells them to get lost, then zaps the life out of Kenny. Kyle wonders why this prime minister was so belligerent and heartless. Stan discovers it's an impostor! Sadaam Hussein! And so Sadaam is arrested, the boys miss Christmas back home, but are invited to participate in the parade. Stan hopes that maybe they will have a Christmas adventure next year.

As you all may know, this episode aired a few days after Sadaam Hussein was captured for real, hiding in a spider hole with a full beard. How very topical, but creates a vast hole in this show's continuity. I wonder what the original ending was before they inserted Sadaam? Anyway, in reality, Sadaam was executed in 2006 and the world is still glad to be rid of him. This episode was not one of their best, but it's okay for what it is. Could have done without the Wizard of Oz spoof. I mean, we've never seen one of those before, right? And where was Mr. Hankey? He could have been the Toto of the group. But criticisms aside, I like this episode's message about adoption and family, and sadly, and for some stupid reason, it is legal for biological parents to change their minds and reclaim their children, even if adopted. It's screwed up and needs to be stopped. So enjoy Christmas in Canada for what it's worth, and Merry Christmas, buddy!

Pretty good

Christmas In Canada is the Season 7 Christmas episode of South Park. It's also a sort of spoof of the wizard of oz.Ike's real parents want to take him back to Canada after a new law has been passed by the new prime minister of Canada.Instead of spending money on presents, everyone decides to give Kyle's family money so they can help get Ike back.To stop this, Kyle and the boys travel to Canada in hopes to talk to the Prime Minister.Along the way they meet different Canadians such as french Canadians who want wine to be legalized again, Mounties who want horses instead of sheep and a Newfoundlander. The episode has an interesting twist as well. This is a pretty funny and good Christmas episode, not the best and not the worst either.
