As I re-watch the episodes from this series I can't help but be reminded, of similarities between Timothy's mother my mother, I had initially considered that it was, the onset f that had turned her sour, but I have since reconsidered that notion.
When I was a kid she could be an somewhat archetypal mum of her generation, and for us kids we grew up to accept it.
I should in hindsight of seen for myself her true nature, but simply because I didn't bare the brunt of it I supposed that I considered I could ignore it.
There is notion that it's perfectly natural for mothers to continue imagining, that their sons will always remain "their little boys", but I can't help wondering if they treat their daughters in the same way.
In this episode Timothy is expected to look after his godson Gavin, an idea that I find particularly daft, the lad is being bullied at school an irony that is compounded, by him having to be looked after by his godfather.
