Quotes

Leslie: Billy, I have a little present for you.
Billy: Oh, you didn't have to do that.
Leslie: I quit my job.
Billy: That's my present?
Leslie: I applied for a job at the university last semester and it came through.
Billy: So that means...?
Leslie: Exactly.
Billy: [nods] What does it mean?
Leslie: It means that I'm no longer your teacher. Mrs. Fairbanks is your teacher now. See?
Billy: You mean I have to take out Mrs. Fairbanks?

Episode 58
6 May 2010 | by See all my reviews

Episode 58 begins with a desperate Chester begging Jessica to give him another chance, admitting that his infidelity is a sickness and that he needs help, just like a diabetic(Jessica:"if you were a diabetic, you'd stay away from the cookies!") Mary believes that Jodie can solve his child's welfare problems by moving back home with the Campbells,an idea Burt also approves.Following a satisfying session of lovemaking,Mary tells her husband he was wonderful(Burt:"you say that to all the Burts?") His continuing to ask about a very sensitive subject forces Mary to admit that she was just as miserable on Earth as he was aboard the spaceship; his love was missing(confiding that she enjoyed her earlobes being nibbled,Burt says "what'd he do with the earrings, swallow it?") The Tates celebrate Billy's 18th birthday, and everyone is eager to meet Leslie; she confides that quitting her job and accepting a post at the university means that she's no longer his teacher,or "bound by any legal or moral code...I can safely give you your present...and tonight I'm going to light up every candle on your cake!" Billy: "I better start thinking of a wish!"
