Storyline

Emily seeks advice from Kathleen in a quest to be a good mother to her foster son, and the two of them debate the best way to raise children. Michael takes some time to play with Josh, who is visiting Langara with Emily while Colin is away. One day, while they are building a fort on the station's land, they stumble upon a company of soldiers, camped at the edge of the woods. The army are on Matt's land with his permission, to carry out military exercises, which involve firing live ammunition within a temporarily restricted area. Like many boys, both are fascinated by all things military, and especially firearms. Concerned that the army does not provide suitable role models for her son, Kathleen forbids Michael from having anything to do with the soldiers. However, the youngster can't resist the lure of what he perceives as a life of heroism and excitement and returns to the camp, followed by an equally curious Josh, who, sneaks into an officer's tent and takes a loaded hand gun to ...
