Storyline

In Smallville High School, a swimmer mysteriously ages and dies, after meeting his girlfriend Chrissy Parker. The new principal Reynolds arrives and comes into conflict with Clark Kent because he is a friend of Lex Luthor. Clark asks Chloe and Pete to investigate Principal Reynolds' history, as well as Chrissy whom they suspect is a life-draining freak who needs three youths to stay eternally young every 12 years. Meanwhile, the Kents are having financial problems and Martha contacts her estranged father, whom she hasn't seen for twenty years, to borrow some money much to Jonathan's disapproval. Also, Lana Lang finds an old picture of her mother with an apparent boyfriend. After not getting help from Aunt Nelle, Lana then asks Lex to help her investigate. Trivia

In the episode, "Redux" there is a reference made to Coast City which was the one-time home of DC Comics super-hero Green Lantern. See more »

Goofs

It's revealed that Chrissy has been sucking the youthfulness out of her victims since the 1920s, but all of the other "villains" thus far were made that way through some kind of contact with the meteor rocks. Of course, the meteor shower only happened 12 years prior to this episode. No explanation is given for Chrissy's rapid aging nor her youth-sucking powers. See more »

Quotes

Clark Kent: I got to get going, I'm gonna be late.
Lex Luthor: Hey, Clark, you need a lift?
Clark Kent: No thanks, I was just going to... run.
Lex Luthor: [chuckles] No offense, Clark, but I don't think you could outrun my Porsche.

Families Issues and Complex of Peter Pan

In Smallville High School, a swimmer mysteriously ages and dies, after meeting his girlfriend Chrissy Parker (Maggie Lawson). The new principal Reynolds (Richard Gant) arrives and conflicts with Clark Kent because he is friend of Lex Luthor. The Kent family is having financial problems and Martha contacts her father, who has been away from the family for twenty years, to borrow some money. Lana Lang finds an old picture of her mother with an apparent boyfriend and asks Lex to investigate.

"Redux" is an episode with many situations, some of them resolved, but others left open. There are new characters, such as Principal Reynolds and Clark's grandparent, and the stories are very good. My vote is nine.
