Storyline

When Lana is assaulted by three drunken customers at The Talon, Clark defends her and ends up throwing the main antagonist onto the new Sheriff's car. The new uptight Smallville sheriff, Nancy Adams, arrests Clark for assault and battery but later dismisses the charges and gives Clark 40 hours of community service instead. Andrew Connors, the man that Clark threw onto the Sheriff's car, fakes a serious injury and attempts to sue the Kents. With the abrasive Sheriff Adams unwilling to help Clark and his family, Lana decides to help Clark expose Connors as a phony. Meanwhile, Helen is stalked by her ex-boyfriend, Paul Hayden. When Paul attacks and nearly kills Helen, a vengeful Lex teams up with Clark to track down Paul to the train station before he can skip town. Written by Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Quotes

Chloe Sullivan: Why do I get the feeling that you're not impressed with Lana's turning all "Charlie's Angels" on us?
Clark Kent: I know Lex's intentions are good. But what if she gets overconfident, finds herself in a situation that she can't handle?
Chloe Sullivan: Clark, as a six foot... whatever guy, you have no idea what it feels like to have to cross the street at night when you hear footsteps behind you. If getting a little girl power makes Lana feel like less of a victim, then you should be all for it.

Nancy is Uptight
9 October 2007 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

The episode begins and ends exciting in this fairly good "Smallville" episode. Action abounds with a fight outside a coffee shop at the beginning, and on the road at the end.

While Lana is closing down the Talon for the night, three men attack her in an attempt to rob the shop. Clark saves her, beating up the guys, while Lana is turned away. However, Sheriff Nancy Adams arrests him for assault. Meanwhile, Lexgirl Helen is getting stalked by a former boyfriend. Friends Lex and Clark team up to stop the stalker before he can get out of town.

This episode is another OK one as the end of the season draws nearer.
