Storyline

While working as a volunteer with Pete at Smallville Youth Center, Clark receives a distress phone call from Lana, who is shot by Adam. His further investigation shows that the call was made from the future because of a time/space porthole created by a massive electrical surge from a downed power line fitted with meteor rocks, during a coming thunderstorm. Meanwhile, Lionel Luthor shuts down the obscure Merton Laboratory and the research that Dr. Lia Teng is developing with blood platelet, which were finally revealed to have been developed from the vital of Clark Kent's blood. Adam becomes aware that he has less than 12 hours to be injected with the serum, otherwise he will die. Quotes

Clark Kent: We think it's some sort of a prank, Sheriff.
Sheriff Nancy Adams: [to Clark] You know, usually these situations originate a little closer to home than you'd expect.
[to Lana]
Sheriff Nancy Adams: Any reason you might wanna goose these boys with a little crank call Ms. Lang?
Clark Kent: Lana didn't have anything to do with this.
Sheriff Nancy Adams: You know, unless Ms. Lang has grown several inches and developed an affinity for plaid, this would be a good time for you to pipe down.

Bloody Episode
14 May 2006 | by (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) – See all my reviews

While working as a volunteer with Pete Ross in Smallville Youth Center, Clark Kent receives a distress call from Lana Lang, who is shot by Adam Wright. His further investigation shows that the call was made from the future. Meanwhile, Lionel Luthor shuts down the obscure Metron Laboratory and the research that Dr. Lia Teng is developing with blood platelet. Adam becomes aware that he has less than twelve hours to be injected with the serum, otherwise he will die. He escapes and apparently kills Dr. Teng and her team. Lex is framed as responsible for the massive murder.

"Crisis" is a bloody episode, but full of holes. There is no explanation for the reception of Lana's cellular call from the future, and the sudden arrival of Clark saving Lana uses the same lack of clarification. The fate of Lionel Luthor and his interest in the serum is finally disclosed. My vote is seven.
