Storyline

Lana sees the impossible: a friend named Emily Eve Dinsmore, who died six years earlier in a fatal accident at age 10, and still appears that age. Clark Kent believes Lana and searches for the truth. Emily's father Mr. Dinsmore has an accident provoked by Emily and Lionel Luthor visits him in the hospital. Lana and Clark eventually discover that Emily is the result of a Luthor Corp experiment in accelerated cloning. But problems in her chromosomes have caused her to be a flawed copy, resulting in a bad temper, with the power of super-speed and telekinesis. Meanwhile, Lex Luthor plans his wedding with Helen, while Lionel gives Lex a free airline ticket for a honeymoon in the Caribean, and to tie up some loose ends over the Emily cloning matter, and to take control of the old cave away from Lex. Goofs

As Clark and Lana enter the room with the tubes containing the Emily clones, a long shot shows three large glass beakers in the foreground, which are all empty. The beakers are on a stand near the farthest tube from Clark and Lana. A few shots later, Lana peers into this tube and is startled when the clone opens her eyes, causing Lana to jump back into the stand, thus knocking over the beakers, which all now contain green liquid Kryptonite. Quotes

Lex Luthor: Back from Metropolis so soon? Awfully long drive for quality health care.
Lionel Luthor: Oh, you're tailing me, Lex? I hope not. It's a bit obsessive, don't you think?
Lex Luthor: No, I just heard you were here. I wanted to make sure you're okay.
Lionel Luthor: I came to visit a former employee. He's just been admitted. Unfortunately, he's still unconscious.
Lex Luthor: Well, he must have been an exceptional worker to merit a visit from the CEO.
Lionel Luthor: I like to think that I treat everyone at LuthorCorp as part of the family.
Lex Luthor: Oh, that would explain their...

Once Friends the Same Age, now Lana is six years older
9 October 2007 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

This episode is so interesting from many angles and perspectives, a result of a fantastic storyline in the series' 42nd episode.

After being friends with Emily Dinsmore at age 10, Lana lost her friend due to a tragic incident in the town's river . However, much to her surprise, Lana again meets Emily. However, while Lana has is now a 16-year old young woman, Emily is still a 10-year old child. The reasons behind this phenomenon are shocking, as revealed at the end of the episode. In addition, Lana discovers that Emily has super-speed and telekinesis, and tells Clark. Lana becomes spooked by Emily's obsession to always be around Lana, wanting to play with her like old times. In addition, Lionel gives Lex free airline tickets to take Helen on their honeymoon, with the intent of investigating the caves on his own.

This episode is shocking, revealing, and a great all-around show. Emily's obsession of being with Lana is reminiscent of shape-shifter Tina Greer's obsession with her as seen midway through Season 1 and in one of the first episodes of this season.
