The professor is asked to watch a baby while his mom lights a candle in a chapel. She abandons her son and the Sliders chase after her. They see her board the employee shuttle for the local mall, Sky High. It is a huge city-sized mall in the clouds above San Francisco where employees are required to spend most of their salary and encouraged to go into debt that will take a lifetime or more to pay back. To survive, Wade and Rembrandt get jobs as mall elves. The professor is hired as Santa Claus and uses the opportunity to tell the children stories about the real meaning of the Christmas spirit. When Remmie starts acting strange and buying more than all of them could ever use or carry, Quinn and Wade uncover a plot to induce people to spend too much using an illegal subliminal advertising program. Wade meets her sister, Kelly, (played by Chase Masterson) and her father on this world where Wade and her mom died in childbirth. With Kelly's help, the Sliders take down the man behind the subliminal ads and also reunite mother and son. Wade and company spend a family Christmas with the other-worldly Welleses.
