The sliders arrive on a world that has dwindling natural resources. While there, Rembrandt gets sidetracked by his number one fan. In the opening sequence, Quinn Mallory leans down to check the railroad tracks for vibration. Quinn is played by Jerry O'Connell, who was in Stand By Me as a child. During a scene in Stand By Me, his character reaches down to check train tracks for vibration. In both scenes, he and his friends wind up running from an oncoming train. See more
