Somebody really had a clever sense of humor when he thought to include the "alien symbols eye-chart" on the wall of the aliens' examination room, a chart complete with alien-language characters (inspired by the strange symbols embossed on the flying-saucer debris found at Roswell, no doubt) of varying size, just like humans' eye-charts have --- a single big symbol at the top, and then rows of progressively smaller symbols as they proceed on down the page.
