The children's bedroom window has a white paper shade lowered over its brightly-lit windowpanes, yet when Steve and Horton look in, the window has a sheer curtain, and the room is dimly-lit.
The latch that Steve supposedly breaks to get into the miser's house simply bends and then springs back again when the door swings open, obviously showing that it's just a rubber-like material colored with brass-colored paint.
Steve tells Oscar that the Budge Company's products and operations are "well within the specs", but it is also stated several times that the miserly Mr. Budge only allowed the bare minimum of everything.
Bob's children refer to Mr. Budge as "Uncle Horton" even though he is actually their father's uncle; to be correct, they should speak of him as "Great Uncle Horton".
