In terms of how Nate disposed of Lisa's body, a question that is raised by her sister Barb in this episode, the writers actually looked into the legality of Nate's actions. As her husband, he was legally entitled to dispose of Lisa's remains in whatever way he saw fit. However, he did break the law in burying her in public land, and by using someone else's cremains.
