Nate: [appraising David's allegedly accidental new growth of facial hair] What time's your date?
David: Who said I have a date?
[Nate looks skeptical]
David: Tonight. Dinner.
Nate: [nods, looks again] Nah, it's a little too soon. The whole "Oops, I didn't know I was sexy" stubble look will actually peak at around... noon tomorrow. Believe me, I've perfected the art. Can you make it drinks after dinner? That'll give you another couple hours.

While masturbating with asphyxiation, the Jewish executive Jeffrey Marc Shapiro hangs himself and dies. The ceremony of the funeral is conducted by Rabi Ari (Molly Parker) and Nate gets close to her. Keith dreams with David, breaks his relationship with Eddie and invites David for dinner. However, Taylor has an appendicitis crisis and is submitted to an emergency surgery. Claire decides to spend the weekend with Aunt Sarah, and meets their "crazy" friends that live in the 70's in a party. Claire spends the night with Toby, the son of one of the couples. Meanwhile Ruth feels alone in her house. The needy Brenda meets her dysfunctional mother Margaret, and they do not understand each other. Brenda meets Melissa again, and they are becoming close friends. Further, Brenda is getting excited with wild sex and apparently Nate is not satisfying her anymore. Rico believes Vanessa is cheating him with his cousin Ramon, but he finds a different reality.

In "Back to the Garden", the lead characters seem to be looking for or finding new relationships: Nate with the gorgeous Rabi Ari; Brenda and Melissa; Keith and David; Claire and Toby; Ramon and his buddy. I am very intrigued with the deranged Brenda, who seems to be not able to have a normal and conventional relationship due to her sick mother. I expect and hope to see the great actress Molly Parker more times along this series. My vote is eight.

Title (Brazil): "De Volta ao Paraíso" ("Back to the Paradise")
