Trivia

Mr Burns tells Homer (as the Pie Man), "It's cobblering time." This is a spoof of the battle cry of The Thing from the Fantastic Four (movies and comics): "It's clobbering time!" (A cobbler is a dessert with fruit and crust similar to a pie.) See more »

A Whole Lot of Fun,
16 February 2016 | by (Ireland) – See all my reviews

Simple Simpson is a great Simpsons episode with a very well developed storyline and a ton of very funny scenes. It's a fun episode as we see Homer gain a superhero persona as the Pie Man, it was hilarious to see Homer as a man who throws pie's at the faces of criminals. I felt the episode should have had much more scenes of Homer actually fighting crime, we see a bit of it but I definitely would have been better to have more animated action and parodies of superhero films. The episode revolves strongly around Homer and Lisa, an element to the Simpsons that I always love, they're the most different of the five family members, which is why their special bond is always so sweet and effective. A very fun and whimsical episode, Simple Simpson is a great 20 minutes.

After saving Lisa in disguise, Homer becomes a superhero around Springfield who throws pies at people, becoming known as the Pie Man.
