- Milhouse's dad, Kirk, gives a speech to the kids at school. Due to how boring the speech was, Principal Skinner and Mrs.Krabappel take Lisas advice and visit the Springfield Writers Forum to find a better speaker. They find Jeff Jenkins, creator of a popular TV cartoon, Danger Dog. He comes to the school to give a presentation and fascinates the kids by telling them about the cartoon industry.
Soon all the kids start drawing their own cartoon characters (which are rip-offs of Danger Dog). Bart's comic is deemed lame by both Comic Book Guy and Stan Lee. However, Stan encourages him to still try and come up with his own character. Bart comes up with a hero called Angry Dad, based on the rageful outbursts of his father, Homer. He starts drawing comics based on this character.
Bart rolls out the first issue of Angry Dad, which becomes a hit with the kids in school. Unfortunately for him, the comic book isn't very popular with his younger sister, Lisa and she's upset about it. She protests the fact that he's insulting their dad's anger management issues by making comics about him. He responds to her protest by telling her that he should make her, Angry Dad's sidekick, the "Know-it-all sister". Comic Book Guy also likes it, and displays the comic in his store. During an autograph signing session in the schoolyard, Bart is approached by a spokesman for an Internet company. He wants to make Angry Dad into an online animated cartoon series. He agrees and creates his own entertainment label known as Bartoon/Ay Caraumba Entertainment.
The cartoon becomes an Internet hit and Angry Dad continues to be the most popular on the web. The only one still unaware of the craze is the inspiration himself, Homer. When he finally finds out during work, he ends up being the laughingstock to the entire Springfied community. He, of course, is very angry and he angrilly drives home with intentions of strangling Bart to death for insulting him in his internet cartoon. The community who laughed at Homer, follows him around in the hopes they make him go even more ballistic.
At the Simpson house, Homer is furious at Bart over the fact that he made an insulting comic book and cartoon about him and his rage. He attempts to strangle him and punches their pet cat. However, Lisa calms him down and she suggests that he address his anger issues. Homer agrees to work on his anger management problems and promises to be more calmer. Marge also insists that he stops eating junk food and go on a diet, while he's working out his anger issues. However, he refuses her request and tells her that he'll give up on anger only, not his fatty foods.
Homer stays true to his word to stay more calm and suppress his rage from that point on. No matter what rage-provoking incidents occur (ex: a mob of Springfieldians attack his car to get him to go Angry Dad Ballistic), He maintains his cool, but he as a great difficulty in doing so. Every time he does almost gives in to his anger, he develops a lump or two on his neck, which he pushes down. However, his new calm demeanor has also taken away Bart's inspiration for his cartoon.
Bart, not wanting to do a clip show, sets up a trap for Homer, meant to trigger another outburst. Later, they go to the internet company office, where they find the company has gone bankrupt. Bart races home to save his father from the trap, which is no longer needed.
Homer reaches home and sees a sign for free donuts in the treehouse, stuck to the door. When he climbs up to get them, he falls through a carpet-covered hole and gets hung upside-down on the laundry line, which starts moving. He passes through a bunch of strategically-placed cacti and then through some dirty diapers. Many lumps on his neck later, he gets to the end of the line, where he finds a pair of scissors to cut himself down. Relieved, he does so, and falls into a tub full of green paint. Homer, now covered in green, closely resembles The Incredible Hulk as he storms through town, raging and punching things around, screaming "Homer mad! Homer smash! Get revenge on world!" Stan Lee complains that he can't be the Incredible Hulk and tries in vain to be him. Luckily, the cops arrive and restrain him.
Homer is admitted to the hospital right away after the incident with the cops. During the time, Marge is upset with Bart for what happened that she immediately berates him for aggravating his rage and causing $10 million of damages. However, Dr.Hibbert arrives and completely disagrees with Marge by telling her that he actually saved his father's life by enraging him. Hibbert explains that the lumps on his neck were actually suppressed rage and it could have overwhelmed Homer's nervous system, if it weren't for Bart.
