Krusty has earned a fortune as a clown, but through gambling, wanton waste, and carelessness, he has lost almost all his money. After Krusty's debts to the mob mount, he is desperate for some income. Krusty opens a clown college. Homer succumbs to a billboard advertisement and becomes one of the college's first students. After Homer begins clown work, he is regularly mistaken for Krusty. Homer gets special treatment from the police and storeowner Apu, and he delights in his good luck. After Homer declares that he is Krusty and he wants all that Krusty has coming to him, the mob members spot Homer and mistake him for Krusty. Written by Ken Miller <wkmiller704@yahoo.com>

I will never forget the clown music
20 May 2015 | by See all my reviews

Homie the Clown is one of my all-time favourite episodes.

After Krusty finds himself in financial trouble, he opens up a clown college. Meanwhile, Homer checks out the new billboards and decides to join the clown college and become a Krusty impersonator.

It is certainly not one of the deep episodes despite Krusty playing a big role. Episodes involving Krusty sometimes tend to be slow and melancholic to me. Especially in the more recent seasons, Krusty episodes have stopped making me laugh.

However, this episode is one from the good old season, full of laughs and gags, and Krusty is so funny in it. Gags like "we should have bought more than 3 bullets!" or "i see double: 4 Krusties!" will be remembered my whole lifetime, as well as the clown music affecting Homer's mind at the dinner table. Classic!
