Trivia

Madam Wu says her father died a day before the Heimlich maneuver was invented. This puts his death in 1974. If the 2005 release date is the year the episode takes place in, this means Wu is a minimum of 30 years old. See more »

Goofs

The plot of the episode is centered around Selma using Homer as a fake husband to adopt a Chinese baby. However, she had a better solution living in her apartment. All she had to do was come up with a fake name for her sister and dress her up as a man. Since the baby would have Patty as a live-in aunt, it makes more sense to get used to Patty instead of Homer. Marge Simpson: [giggles] Why, thank you, Mr. Simpson

Good episode, but... (WARNING: SPOILERS!!!)

...the part when Selma introduces "her" children (Bart and Lisa pretending they are "her" children) while in China to Madam Wu did not look like a good alternative to show how much she wanted to adopt a child. She could have told Wu that it was Mrs October's (Marge) children to not make it more complicated.

Yes I know it sound like a big compliment from me, but that's something what I would have done instead. Yes I know this episode is the "Out-side- the-golden-years-of-the-Simpsons-episode" and had a flaw from the writers, I personally think the episode shows many funny parts and a good moment at the end of the episode. Definitely not a waste of time but flawed. 7.5/10
