After he gets fired at the plant, Homer gets a job as a car salesman. There he comes across an old ambulance and decides to become an ambulance driver. Not hindered by any medical knowledge Homer starts his new job. Marge also found a new pastime: writing. She writes a book and manages to get it published. It's the talk of the town, not in the least because the book's not very flattering about Homer and suggests a love connection between Flanders and Marge. Written by

Did You Know?
This episode features a guest voice by Thomas Pynchon
, the legendarily reclusive author of such novels as "V" and "Gravity's Rainbow." Prior to that, Pynchon had never granted an interview, or even allowed himself to be photographed, so the appearance was quite literally the first time his voice had been heard publicly. He also did a voice for the 16th season episode "All's Fair in Oven War". See more
