Sad way to end the series

We usually enjoy most of the episodes, but this one is off our list to ever watch again. It is dreadful and so embarrassingly stupid. That cousin of theirs was too heavy with the blush on one side of her face. It wasn't even balanced with the other side of her face.

We love the Marlowes they had, because it was obvious that during the running of the series, they had more than one. We always enjoyed seeing these sweet puppies! Sometimes it was the best part of the whole show.

I really love the theme music. It is great!! To me, it is the best theme music of any of the programs we have ever watched.

S&S jumps the shark

Really dumb episode. Rick and AJ study their past looking for the lost treasure of the Simons. But other people are also looking, so it's a race for the treasure.

Unfortunately, the episode is broken by really silly historical flashbacks about Simons of old who all just happen to look like . . . Rick and AJ. And their mother. And M. P. Brown! And their history is . . . Imprecise.

This sort of "dress up" episode is usually fun for actors. And the more fun actors have in episodes like this, the less fun, usually, the audience shares. The Trouble S&S had for the course of its run was striking the right balance.

I've long advocated for more silliness in S&S, but Rockford Files/Remington Steel silliness. The episode where Gregory Sierra ran a divorce business was a good example. S&S writers were lousy at striking the right balance.

And the treasure? Well, that would be a spoiler.
