Stupid propaganda

Warning: Spoilers
Such a terribly written episode based around male hysteria and anger over accusations of sexual harassment. First, there's Lisa, who we are told over and over is a "good cop". She's not. She's a terrible cop on top of being psychotic and delusional. It seems pretty impossible that she got to her position as trainee detective without anyone else noticing she has issues. It's ridiculous that even at the end, Chris is still telling her she's a good cop. But then he's is still such a good, pure, well intentioned hero who was wrongly accused but held up admirably under pressure.

This story has been based on the obvious fairytale some men tell themselves that all you have to do is look at a woman the wrong way and they will accuse you of sexual harassment. We know this is not true. It's simply the lies some men use as a defense. They try to gaslight everyone into believe the woman is crazy and that men are completely innocent. This episode is simply more propaganda to keep the lie going. I'm angry it was made.

The writers putting together this ridiculous, unrealistic plot to capitalize on and sensationalize these fears. Of course, women can go insane at a moment's notice and completely well meaning men will still get accused of harassment at any time for just being friendly - is what some tell themselves. Just watch how it can happen! Except, this is fiction. And bad fiction at that. But stories like this exist to reinforce the stereotype and they are no better than shows that show all Muslims as terrorists or all Black or Latino men as violent gang members. Then viewers can sit back and say "see how it happens" and feel good about their beliefs. This episode is a blight on this otherwise enjoyable series.
