A hard hitting opening episode
5 June 2017 | by (Swansea, United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

A train smashes into a stationary Land Rover, which has been left on the track. It's survivors are united by grief, with 21 dead and 21 survivors, they come together to get answers, suspicious by the Army's involvement, quickly on hand, with the Land Rover belonging to Major Wiltshire. Survivor's group leader Diana tragically loses daughter Sarah, even after a valiant effort by Rosa, who ran back in to the carriage to try and save Sarah, suffering horrific burns. Leo, Harry and Nikki are blocked by the Army in exploring the case, all they can do is identify the unknown 'body 21' who nobody remembers, and who's identification proves tough.

A very hard hitting episode, quite graphic, not afraid to show the horrors of a crash. The human element is probably the strongest aspect of it, Diana's grief over Sarah's death, Rosa's tragic burns, I thought Emma Cunniffe delivered a wonderful performance as Rosa, the story pretty much hangs on her shoulders.

A strong episode 8/10
