That's the only way to describe this two-part episode and the major who is heading this revolution. There were a lot of cattle ranchers, and there were a lot who refused to be part of the cattleman's association. It was these ranchers this deranged major was against. He started out with a pretty innocent woman who was known for her shady dealings with cattle buying. We don't know for sure that she actually rustled, but she did admit to not being on the up-in-up. There is a strange number of circumstances that occur and cause her death.

It appears that Shane then decides to go on the other side, and Marian is unsurprisingly shocked that he did such an awful thing to her. Of course, the results are okay but not before a lot of people turn against Shane and believe the worst of him...
