Storyline

The girls wrestle with social inequalities. When Samantha dates super-rich Harvey, she enjoys the perks she claims not to crave for, but finds his relationship with female servant Sum is not as one-sided as it seems. Charlottes date with celebrity actor Wylie Ford starts as a luxury dream, but she soon finds she's expected to become more of an abjectly servile fan then a self-respecting lover. Miranda takes Steve shopping for his wardrobe but has a taste he cannot afford and yet won't allow her to pick up the bill, even if that breaks hem up. Carrie is insecure again when Big takes her to a socialite party but never seems able to express his love, and therefore goes out with an old artistic flirt without means she find waitering there. Mr. Big: Listen. I know what you're really pissed off about. But it's just something I've gotta do in my own time! Okay? Well, I fucking love you! All right? You know I do.... It's just a tough thing for me to say, because it always seems to get me in trouble ... when I say it. Okay?

Issue About Money In A Relationship
3 September 2013 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Carrie decides to say "I love you" to Mr. Big, but his response isn't exactly what she was hoping for. Instead, all she got was an ugly purse. They attend a fancy party from an upstate socialite, who won't allow indoors smoking or have any brown food or drinks at the party. While out in the terrace for a smoke, Carrie runs into Jeremiah, an artist/bartender with whom she's been flirting with for a several years. While he was showing her his tattoo, Serena the socialite walks in on them, and tells Mr. Big Carrie was giving him a blowjob. Offended, Carrie leaves the party with Jeremiah, get drunk and wakes up the next morning with him on his bed. Luckily they didn't do anything, because Mr. Big called her first thing in the morning saying he does love her, but he was just afraid to say it.

Meanwhile, Charlotte meets a famous actor and acts like a groupie around him. But despite making exceptions on several dating rules, she feels like she has to establish some boundaries when the guy goes too far with his sexual requests. Miranda is seeing a guy who's poorer than her, and money issues eventually lead to a breakup. Samantha is sexing a guy with a servant, but she feels like there's no space for her between their employee-employer relationship after repeatedly being thrown out of bed by the two-faced jealous maid.

In this episode,we get to see the issue of money in relationships.I think that in Carrie's case,it wasn't about the issue of money but it was more again of the emotional problems that Mr Big has. With Charlotte,we get to see how wealthy people's lifestyle can somewhat be disconcerting and some people can get away with it due to the fact that they are wealthy enough to do so.In Miranda, she feels disconcerted too as she see where her relationship with Steve is headed to due to money problems. But in the end,we all know how that relationship ended for as they always say,"Love conquers all".Money isn't always the only determining factor in the success of the relationship. Finally,in the case of Samantha,it is also the same case with Charlotte. Some wealthy people's lifestyle can also disconcerting also in a negative way that people haven't had the guts to change for the better probably after achieving a lot of success in life.
