Storyline

Carrie presents her first free-lance article to the Vogue editors, who react completely different: Enid barks it's 'her column', so 'not Vogue', but Julian takes to her- perhaps even too much. When Richard says he doesn't want to celebrate his birthday but Samantha insists he picks a gift, it is - a threesome with a younger waitress. When Miranda complains about getting things for her future baby, Charlotte -who is mourning her own motherhood ambition- offers to throw her a baby-shower but is instructed to keep it low-key, almost businesslike, without storks etcetera. Carrie Works For Vogue
5 September 2013 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Carrie has a one-time, big-shot free-lancing opportunity at Vogue. She puts her heart and soul into a shoe article, which unfortunately isn't very well accepted by the female editor. After a lot of bonding with the male editor, Julian, Carrie finds herself completely swept off her feet with all the glamor of Vogue. When she is given the opportunity of her dreams – pick anything on the Vogue closet – she decides that no pair of shoes can replace her dignity as she is surprised by a pant-less Julian. Meanwhile, Samantha decides to give Richard a threesome for his birthday, and learns that one twenty year old bimbo doesn't get anywhere near her twenty year old experience. And Charlotte freaks out while hosting Miranda a baby shower after sees a present that brings her back to her past.

This happens to be a filler episode for Carrie as she tries to do some free lance work at Vogue after ending a relationship. Also,we get to see developments in the other characters as Miranda gives a baby shower which hurts Charlotte so much considering how much she wanted to have a child and it brings past memories of her previous marriage. Also,we get to see Miranda feel uncomfortable with the baby shower as well. And for Samantha's case, she resorts to her need for sex after she invites Richard for a threesome only to be disappointed with the experience. In the end,we see Samantha become the same woman we know in the previous episodes.
