Trivia

Danny Hoch was originally cast as Ramon the Pool Guy, but refused to use a Spanish accent because he felt the character would be demeaning to Latinos. Hoch complained that many talented Latino actors were only offered stereotypical roles and now he (a non-Latino) was being asked to do such work. Hoch argued with Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David, and later claimed that Jason Alexander and Julia Louis-Dreyfus were generally supportive of him, while Michael Richards said he should just do his job or he'd be fired. Hoch was then told that the shooting of the episode was postponed while they cast his replacement and that he could fly back to New York on his own time. He described the incident in his one-man show Jails, Hospitals & Hip-Hop. See more »
