In a July 2012 NY Times interview, Jerry Seinfeld talked about his love for the legendary 'Who's On First?' comedy routine performed by Bud Abbott and Lou Costello. He said he experienced a 'Who's on first?'-like moment in this episode when he and Kramer (Michael Richards) shared the following bit of dialogue: Jerry: "You don't even know what a write-off is." Kramer: "Do you?" Jerry: "No, I don't." Kramer: "But they do, and they are the ones writing it off."
A much larger version of Fusilli Jerry (Jerry Seinfeld) appears in Kramer's (Michael Richards) apartment during the photo shoot.
This episode, in which Newman grills Jerry (Jerry Seinfeld) about mail fraud, is a parody of Basic Instinct (1992). Wayne Knight, who plays Newman, appeared in that film.
Kramer's (Michael Richards) alias of Dr. Von Nostrand appears in this episode. The alter-ego also appears in episodes 3:9, "The Nose Job" and 9:7, "The Slicer."
