This episode marks Kramer's first mention of his unseen friend Bob Sacamano.
The Man in the silver suit on the television at the very beginning of the show where Jerry wakes up and writes down the "joke" was played by Larry David - Co-Producer of the series. The bit reappears in George's hospital room at the very end of the episode where Jerry realizes it was not funny after all.
Pat Hazell, who plays the man in the other bed, was a consultant to the show in the first season and regularly did the audience warm-up.
