Storyline

Jerry scores premium tickets to a New Jersey Devils playoff game. He invites Kramer, Puddy, and Elaine along. But Jerry gets weirded out when Puddy shows up at the game and paints his face to match the team colors. Puddy gets so worked up after the game that he freaks out a visiting pastor from El Salvador, who is convinced that Puddy really is the devil. Elaine tries to convince him otherwise. Kramer enjoyed the game so much that he tries to convince Jerry to get more tickets from the guy Jerry got them from. Meanwhile, George decides to tell his girlfriend that he loves her, only to have the plans backfire on him while Kramer battles a chimpanzee at the zoo. Written by halo1k

Trivia

Not too long after this episode was broadcast, the New Jersey Devils won their first Stanley Cup. They would win it again in 2000 and 2003, respectively. See more »

Goofs

When everyone goes to the first hockey game, the marquee out front shows you that the game is being played at Madison Square Garden. When New Jersey scores, Puddy is celebrating by banging on the glass, and you can hear the siren in the background. The siren would not be played if the visiting team (New Jersey) scored a goal at Madison Square Garden (New York). The siren would only be used if the home team (in this case the Rangers) scored. Season 6, Episode 22, "The Face Painter"

"The Face Painter" is an excellent episode, that relies almost entirely on Jason Alexander, who delivers one of his best performances as George Constanza. George has been becoming more and more of a jerkass as the series progressed, but on "The Face Painter" he's sympathetic as well.

He's not alone, though. Patrick Warburton reprises his role as David Puddy, and where his previous appearance on "The Fusilli Jerry" was pretty tame, this time he nails the character. His interactions with Elaine are hilarious, and set the pace for most of season 9 (on which he'd be used a bit excessively - though he's still one of the funniest actors on the show). Kramer is also hilarious in a pretty dumb and inconsequential but entertaining side-plot.
