One Of The Funniest and The Unluckiest Too !

"Secret Agent Man" was undoubtedly a wonderful TV show. I remember watching it in 2001, with crap shows like "Relic Hunter", "Mutant X", "Special Unit 2", "The Lost World", and "Sheena" (Yes, I was THAT loyal !). And all of the above was nothing compared to this show and its skill, intelligence, sensuality and hilarity.

I think after the unbelievable success of Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999), director Barry Sonnenfeld, the show's producer / co-creator, wanted to parody Bond's movies and clones, reviving the 1960s' rare erotica and verbal humor, while investing the distinguished world of his 1997 hit (Men In Black), and putting the idea of (Mission: Impossible) team in the mix as well, to eventually make such a spy comedy with creative imagination. I don't know about you, but for me it is a perfect formula for fun show.

Due tribute to the gorgeous cast : the droll (Dondre Whitfield), the hot (Dina Meyer), and the slick (Costas Mandylor). Unfortunately, they had no luck, hence strayed in the world of TV and Cinema after the show's cancellation.

Speaking of which, I was so sad when it stopped after episode 12, and angry too while having all of the previous stupid shows again !! So why on earth did they cancel it ?! Seems to me that it presented some kind of fun that nobody wanted anymore. In the 2000s, the face of TV would be wholly changed, rather deformed, with real and abundant sex and violence. Therefore, funny shadows of them, like "Secret Agent Man", wouldn't be needed. Alas.
