"Stargate SG-1" Children of the Gods (TV Episode 1997)
Brett Butler, dressed in Teal'c's snake armor, asks director John Miller why his character, Dr. Quinn, is dressed as a martian. Miller replies that he is not a martian, but rather from a "super-race of symbiotes" and that he has a "little snake that lives in [his] belly." When Butler asks why, Miller says that it's because the writers have trouble writing "urban" characters, (to which Butler responds, "urban, meaning black") so now he's "like Mister Spock, but, urban, like 'Get at me dawg!'" A PA then hands Butler a staff weapon like Teal'c's, which Butler thinks is a spear. Miller corrects him, stating that it is actually a "space spear: shoots lasers. Uh-huh. POW!"
