A professor and his daughter hire Mike to harvest a rare underwater plant from a South American lake. The anxious old man joins Mike for the dive, comes up too quickly, and develops the bends. Hoping to save the man's life, Mike radios a nearby military base looking for a pressure suit used by high-altitude pilots. Written by

Philanthropist professor John Anderson (as Auerbach) and pretty blond daughter Jan Harrison (as Marian) are searching for a rare plant in the waters of Costa Rica. Since the pair are not experts in diving, they employ manly Mike Nelson (Lloyd Bridges) to bring up the plants, which have medicinal healing properties. However, suspicious locals Ken Drank (as Alfonso) and Ricou Browning (as Carlos) pull a gun on the group; they don't want interlopers prowling their fishing waters. Tension mounts when Mr. Anderson gets "The Bends" after coming up too fast. This is a good, though simplistic, education in what became a 1995 "Radiohead" album. It ends with Ms. Harrison throwing Bridges some lusty looks, which he ignores...
