"This is study hall, not soul train!"

Zack is disgusted to learn that his medal scheme is all for naught when Slater shows up at The Max with a trophy for a wrestling accomplishment. Slater gets lauded with adulation by Mr. Belding, students, girls, and unfortunately for Zack, Kelly Kapowski as well. Slater's militant Dad tells Mr. Belding that Slater is transferring with him to Hawaii. A jealous Zack uses this to his advantage and makes up a lie that Slater is near death from a mysterious illness. He manages to cajole the girls to make sure Slater leaves Bayside for his "Own" well-being, so he can have Kelly all to himself. This is one of my favorite episodes of season one. I always laugh my ass off Zack's antics in this one. I admit that exploiting and faking illnesses isn't a good thing to do. It takes gumption to do it though and I felt they pulled it off beautifully. There are some great moments in this one. One of my favorites is when Zack hilariously freezes time to speak to the camera and then hams it up. You really get to see the rival Zack and Slater would build up for most of season one over Kelly. As much as I dislike Mario Lopez, his Slater character is undeniably fun to watch. I thought the pressure from Slater's dad rang true in this one. It was a good message about how your son's happiness should always come first, regardless of the circumstances.

Additonal Note. I have one question... How the hell did Dustin Diamond squeeze into that file cabinet to spy on Mr. Belding?! There had to be a special trick they did.
