Executive producer Jean Doumanian was nearly fired just before the show. She argued with NBC executives about a sketch featuring Gail Matthius as nun claiming to have had sex with Father Guido Sarducci. NBC boss Fred Silverman threatened to fire her and pull the episode completely. Doumanian finally relented. But the sketch was allowed to air two episodes later. See more »
