Trivia

At the beginning of 'Ashlee Simpson''s second performance, the vocal track of the song she performed in her first performance, "Pieces of Me" is heard. Simpson confusedly looks around, looks at her band and starts to do a silly jig. Then, she walks offstage and the show quickly cuts to commercial. The technical mistake revealed that Simpson was lip-synching instead of performing live. At the end of the show, an embarrassed Simpson says her band played the wrong song so she "didn't know what to do so [she] thought [she'd] do a hoedown". She is the only musical guest in the history of the show to walk offstage in the middle of a performance. See more »
