Final episode Chris Farley and Adam Sandler appeared in as series regulars. They were fired by NBC a short time after the end of this season.
David Duchovny appears in drag on this show. This is actually not the first time he has done this. Before The X-Files (1993), his breakthrough role was as Denise Bryson on Twin Peaks (1990).
Michael McKean appears in the cold open, playing Cigarette Smoking Man from The X-Files (1993). Michael McKean was cast in a guest role in four episodes of the X-files some years later, playing a government agent switching bodies with Agent Mulder, the character played by David Duchovny, host of this show.
In his 2004 memoir "Gasping for Airtime: Two Years in the Trenches of Saturday Night Live", Jay Mohr recounts that his sketch "Rock & Roll Real Estate" had been tried out during the dress rehearsals of the previous two shows, Courteney Cox/Dave Matthews Band (1995) and Bob Saget/TLC (1995). When it was finally performed live on this show, it bombed. According to Mohr, this was because the sketch had grown tired and he had had enough of performing it.
