Let's Make a Deal
kevinolzak6 December 2016
"The Masquerade Party" opens with Grady and Fred enjoying an evening watching the game show WHEEL AND DEAL (spoofing LET'S MAKE A DEAL), with comedian John Barbour doing a fair job as host Harry Monte in place of Monty Hall. With so many bills to pay, Fred has no money to buy his son any birthday presents, and Bubba's offer of free tickets to WHEEL AND DEAL prove irresistible (announcer Johnny Jacobs worked on several game shows such as THE NEWLYWED GAME and THE GONG SHOW). While Lamont fumes at home without the liquor, food, and decorations that his father promised, he's getting plenty of attention in the studio audience - Bubba a Viking, Grady as Cinderella, and Fred G. Sanford, 'the G stands for gorilla!' Despite winning a diamond watch for Lamont his son refuses to accept it, while Fred asks 'Cinderella' if he can borrow 'her' slipper: "I'm gonna drink out of it, if that don't kill me nothing will!" Pat Morita makes the fourth of seven appearances as neighbor Ah Chew.
