Hal Williams makes his final appearance as Officer Smitty
3 December 2016 | by (Youngstown,Ohio) – See all my reviews

"Here Today, Gone Today" has the gang ready to celebrate Fred's 40th year in the junk business, luring him out of the house so they can kidnap his furniture for a reupholstering job (the movie title is "The Incredible Shrinking Fungus"). Fred believes the thieves were a bunch of weirdos: "who else would steal Esther's picture? They must have been desperate!" Esther is pleased that all his useless furniture is gone: "what are YOU still doing here? Good riddance to bad rubbish!" "into each life some ugly must fall!" What no one was counting on was for Fred to collect the insurance on his stolen property! Marlene Clark makes her fifth of six appearances as Lamont's fiancée Janet Lawson, while Hal Williams' Officer Smitty exits the series after 20 episodes since season one.
