Quotes

Man A: He's injured. Bring out the Finisher.
Man B: But, but that's two opponents at once. That's, that's cheating.
Man A: [pause] DOOOO IIIIIIIT!
Man B: It's always me. I always have to get the Finisher. Every time. "Do this, do that. Go get the Finisher." *I* always have to.

I love chickens, I love Samurai Jack, this episode is a little dream come true, let's do this!

This is basically a joke episode, and I love all the little humorous touches, like how all the neon signs in the seedy district have really wholesome slogans on them like "Live clowns!" I love the insane old wizard who all the freaky denizens of the city live in terror of, and who poor Jack makes the fatal mistake of very slightly bumping into and suffers a bizarre ordeal in return! It's so hilarious how Jack in his new chicken form possesses just as much poise and style and poses dramatically with his chicken legs and wings! He has no sword, but uses the tools at his disposal to defeat his animal robot opponents in the forced battles of the "Creature Combat Club", all of which are a heck of a lot of fun. My favourite is the bog-eyed diseased-looking rat thing that "blahs" its tongue out! It seems there's no escape this time for Jack until the oafish animal slaver who's captured him also happens to collide with the nasty wizard and Jack is caught in the crossfire. The fat guy who enslaves Chicken Jack and the music that plays whenever he's on the screen makes me think of Stromboli from Pinocchio. He's so mean and stupid when he doesn't give Chicken Jack any of that lasagna, you'd think he'd want to keep his meal ticket healthy! Very fun episode, it's very similar to "Jack and the Smackback" except it's funnier, and it's a lot more scaled-down! One of my faves.
