The Saint reads that Marvin Chase, a successful factory owner and businessman, miraculously survived a car crash, in which his trusted assistant Bertrand Tamblin was killed. Because of bandages which completely cover his burned face, Marvin can only communicate with notes. When his assistant, Nora, notices a rapid liquidation of his holdings, she suspects a fraud and calls the Saint to help, and Simon's determined to get to the bottom of it.
