Plot Summary

  • The Saint's married friend Bill Harvey is the innocent 'mark' in a scam in which he is set up for blackmail by the seductive Luella, who gets him into a compromising position just in time to be snapped by a photographer and a man claiming to be Luella's husband. Bill is terrified that his less than understanding wife Doris will find out and asks the Saint for help. As a result Luella and her gang find themselves with another victim, though this one is more than ready for them.

  • Simon Templar meets his extrovert, American friend Bill Harvey, now a married man, and Doris, his brunette wife, at the airport's arrivals. Thanks to a big promotion, Bill is now a serious banker, in need of a nice apartment in London to spend the next nine months for the needs of his firm. After an unexpected call from Doris' pregnant sister asking her to be at her side, Bill will be single once more and his frivolous old self will quickly emerge, craving for the good old times with his dear friend Simon. During a night of gambling, drinks and dames, Bill will meet with the luscious con artist Luella, an expert in blackmailing the rich and careless with the aid of her two accomplices: a photographer and a supposed husband. In the end, things are bound to get worse, as Doris will inevitably find out all about her husband's shenanigans, so for once more, it's up to the Saint to sort things out!
