Storyline

Paul Bryan crusades to save a disgraced ex-cop, framed for murdering his wife, despite the attorney-loathing suspect punching out the dying lawyer. En route from San Francisco to the Big Apple, Bryan's stop in Medbury, Michigan turns quite ugly early one morning, when a cycle gang mugs him. The passing former policeman, Vince Murdock, saves Paul, so they go for drinks, but when Paul reveals he's a member of the bar, there's more ugliness. Returning home, Vince discovers his wife beaten to death. But when Paul rushes to the DA to alibi Vince, their bartender, a close pal of Vince, insists only Paul was in the tavern then.
