The episode opens with Pat receiving a package he ordered. It's a box of disguises to help him with his undercover detective career. Then Hermit (Hank Patterson) enters the cafe and reports that he saw two kids all alone in a cabin in the woods. The sheriff wasn't around so he tells Roy and Dale. They find the boy and girl in the cabin, but then four outlaws arrive and shoot at them. The kids' father is a fur trapper and he has a valuable cache of furs hidden in a secret cellar. Those outlaws are trying to steal the furs. They have the kids' father prisoner but he won't tell where the furs are. Roy and Dale will really have to use their heads to overcome these tough guys.
