In the year 1866, two Union army veterans and a former Confederate officer rode the dangerous way west together. The War Between the States had ended and other forms of violence and viciousness were taking its place. Lawless bands roamed the border states looting, plundering, spreading death and destruction. Most notorious of these was Sutton and his self-styled raiders. Men such as these three knew that survivor depended entirely on constant alertness; their trust in each other.
