When a geologist discovers the real Agent Pierce's bones in the desert, Valenti must work to protect Michael who is the chief suspect in the alleged homicide. Nasedo, who has been posing as Agent Pierce, returns from DC to help them, but discovers that there are far worse dangers among them. Meanwhile, Liz returns from a summer trip and takes a job in the local Congresswoman's office, a woman who is known to be suspicious of alien activity. Liz helps Max search for information about the mysterious element Cadmium X found in residue left on corpses killed by the aliens.
