Storyline

Roseanne and Jackie go to Chicago for Parent's Day, to surprise Darlene, and in hopes of meeting her new boyfriend, Jimmy. David wants to learn how to be tough, in order to compete with Darlene's boyfriend, who is a boxer, for her affections. Roseanne assigns Dan to help David feel good about just being himself. D.J. is getting picked on at school by a bully, but refuses to learn to fight back for fear that getting hit will hurt. Fred is impressed with Dan's parenting, until he figures out that Dan is only doing what Roseanne tells him to. Written by Lynne Boris Johnston

Dan: [David wants Dan to leave him alone, but Dan can't] Well I gotta good reason. And that good reason is barreling right towards this house right about now, about seventy miles an hour in a 55 zone, slurping a Big Gulp.

Punch and Jimmy (#7.8)
21 April 2017 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

Dan wants to teach DJ how to fight. David wants him to teach him too and shows interest in bikes. Dan and Roseanne thinks it is because he wants to impress Darlene and Dan wants to make David love himself like Roseanne suggested. But turns out that David wanted to impress Dan. And Roseanne goes with Jackie to meet Jimmy whom she already doesn't like because she likes David.

The story about David wanting to impress Dan was pretty good. It had funny moments but it was also very sweet how they had this conversation at the end and Dan assured him that he respects him.

Roseanne and Jimmy was also funny although I also wish him and Darlene would break up because I like David more.
