Trivia

Roseanne says that she's hardly seen Fred "since he moved in with that D.A. chick with them two kids." This is an inside-joke. Michael O'Keefe, who played Fred, left this series to star on the short-lived Life's Work (1996), in which his character was married to a lawyer. "Life's Work" immediately followed 'Roseanne' on ABC's Tuesday night schedule. See more »

Home for the Holidays (#9.12)
13 May 2017 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

Dan is coming home after spending a lot of time with his mother in California. Roseanne is happy to see him although they seem to be a bit awkward. It is Christmas. They do all the decorating and exchange their presents. Roseanne gets Dan to burn their mortgage papers. And then Jackie overhears Dan talking to another woman.

A very good episode and so unexpected. I really wouldn't have thought they will have Dan have an affair! This is so sad. I think how he never cheated on Roseanne before but now....? When everything was supposed to become happy? I didn't expect it this season. The episode was great in evoking this emotions. First happiness of Dan coming back, then the amazing feeling from the mortgage burning and then this disbelief and sadness of hearing this phone conversation.
