Criminal justice review Agent Rose Linden managed to get a man off a murder charge, at the stand of his acquittal, he confesses his guilt to her, the confession sends Rose over the edge, and down to the basement, to work with the lowly Maloney.
It's been an age since I last saw this, but I never forgot it, hard to believe it's over two decades old. Memorable, the storyline, the diabetes, the hair and course the combination of Lancashire and Davis.
They really did set the ball rolling with this first episode, there's a lot happening, and both characters are introduced very well.
Fine cast, but having the brilliance of both Sarah Lancashire and Phil Davis, terrific, they bounce off one another so well. Tony Maudsley is excellent.
Amusing at times, surprising at others, it's certainly like no other show, I had no idea that two further series came, I look forward to them.
8/10.
