The best episode of the season...too bad it was edited for the DVD
5 August 2006 | by See all my reviews

I wasn't that big a fan of "Robot Chicken" when it began airing on Cartoon Network in early 2005. I appreciated what creators Seth Green and Matthew Senreich were doing, but I found the jokes on the show to be hit-and-miss, mostly miss. It wasn't until the airing of this episode, with the excellent title Vegetable Fun Fest, that I became a fan of the show. What sold me? A segment in the episode in which Beavis and Butt-Head join the Teen Titans. It was inventive, it was well written, and it was laugh-out-loud hilarious. Unfortunately, due to some legal problems, the sketch was cut out when the Volume One DVD came out earlier this year. Hopefully it was show up in some shape or form in the future. As for the rest of the episode, there are a bunch of other memorable segments, none of which measure up to the Beavis and Butt-Head once, but still strong nonetheless. Fans of SLEEPAWAY CAMP will not be disappointed and haters of THE VILLAGE will have something to be happy about. With or without the Beavis and Butt-Head segment, Vegetable Fun Fest is the best episode of the first season of "Robot Chicken" and a good reminder that television comedy isn't dead. Version with Beavis and Butt-Head: 9/10. DVD version: 10/10.
