Rampant Teenage Hormones
18 June 2009 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

I saw this TV series in 1965 when I was 19 and would love to see a DVD or video of it again.I even did a bit of research about 13 years ago since it was not possible to obtain a copy of this TV series.I wrote to "London Weekend" what was then the ITV weekend franchise holder for the London area.I was informed that that in 1965 this franchise was held by "Redifusion".Redifusion have long since passed into oblivion.I remember the TV Times listing magazine front cover for 30/07/1965 announcing the opening of what was then a brand new series. It looked very glamorous being filmed extensively in the south of France. What was even more glamorous was the starlet adorning the front cover of this publication.Years later I went to the newspaper and magazine archive & library at Colindale NW London and looked up this issue once again (I was then about 50).I had a colour photo made of the girl described then as "Crista Nelli, a judge's daughter" who appeared in the first episode "Who can catch a falling star?".I thought she looked the best looking Italian actress since Sophia Loren yet she doesn't appear in the IMDb.com actor credits to "Riviera Police" for this episode. She was most billed in her later film career as "Krista Nell" and I have a few later films of hers; the best being "Tanz des Satans" and a German company "Marketing Film" have produced a good copy of this 1971 film which you can still buy.It is difficult for me now to cast my mind back 44 years and unfortunately Krista Nell died early in 1975 from leukemia.I do remember though that she rearranged my teenage hormones into a terrible state!! Critics say "Riviera Police" was of mediocre quality and they are probably right seeing as I can only remember that Italian Dish!!I give it retrospectively 6/10.
